Pie Recipes on the Web

I found an interesting prize winning apple pie recipe on the National Public Radio site. The crust has cider vinegar in it. The recipe is from "Baking in America: Traditional and Contemporary Favorites from the Past 200 Years" by Greg Patent.

Also I found a cranberry pie recipe I like from the web site of a mystery novelist--Francine Matthews, aka Stephanie Barron who writes the Jane Austen detective series. The recipe is NANTUCKET CRANBERRY PIE

There is an interview with Daniel Liebeskind about his work on the Victoria and Albert Museum extension. He talks about the relationship between music and architecture. He says he doesn't know why he switched from music to architecture. It was an irrational decision. HIs design for the World Trade Center is the only one I like. He is best known for the Jewish Museum in Berlin which has an unusual shape -- a zigzag. He was born in Poland in 1946 and became a US citizen.

Summer Reading from National Public Radio

Monday, June 10, 2002

You can see eight Apple Computer tv ads for Switching to Mac in Quicktime Movies.

Grave Maurice is the new mystery novel from Martha Grimes due out in August. She left Richard Jury full of bullet holes in the last book, The Blue Last. Recently I went back to the first novel in the series, Man With a Load of Mischief, and began again. I am going to make a list of tea cakes and dishes from the novels, starting with Fat Rascals.

Punch-Drunk Love, a romantic comedy with Adam Sandler, was a hit at the Cannes Film Festival. Adam's dog Meatball is featured on his web site www.adamsandler.com. I am trying out one of the wallpapers of the dog.

There is a web site dedicated to P. T. Anderson, the director of Punch-Drunk Love. It says that he, PTA, made the newest short film about Meatball.

The Eerdmans Spring Catalog is online. Everything in it look good to me.
This page is a biography of Alfred Korzybski (pronounced Kah-shib-ski) who wrote a book called Science & Sanity about how language causes misunderstanding.
I am trying to move to another server. This is test.
There is some nice wallpaper for Queen Elizabeth's Jubilee down at the bottom of the page of downloads. This is on the www.royal.gov.uk site. There are also details on the funeral of the Queen Mum.

My favorite wallpaper is from MacDesktops. I use the iMac poster as a background on this Windows computer I am using.
This is the beginning of my weblog. I am reading How the Scots Invented the Modern World by Arthur Herman. According to the author the Scots invented modernism.I am only in chapter 2. I just went through the battle to ratify the unification of England and Scotland in 1707-1708. The Scots didn't want to do it but they didn't have much choice.
